A beautiful antique French porcelain vase known as a Wedding Vase. The piece dates the late 1800s and was once used to display a bouquet of silk flowers to commemorate a couple's marriage. Often, the vase and flowers were housed under a glass globe. This style of decorative white and gold porcelain is known in France as "Porcelaine de Paris".
The petite vase has been delicately hand painted in gold and features an ornate design with relief flowers. As the vase was used to display artificial flowers there is a small hole in the base and therefore it cannot hold fresh flowers and water. The base has been stamped "791" and signed "15".
4 1/4" Tall x 3 3/4" Wide (11 cm x 9 cm)
The 19th century vase is in very good antique condition with some light wear to the gold highlights. There are no chips or cracks.
